March Glossybox

Here goes, my final Glossybox review! I hope you guys like She Said because that's what you'll be seeing on here from now on! I just want to point out, I don't have anything against GB and i think they're probably the strongest beauty box on the market at the moment. The products they provide are usually very high quality and i appreciate that trying to cater for a wide range of people with different preferences and skin types etc. is probably really difficult. However, i felt that the excitement of GB had worn off for me and the samples included tend to be wasted and after a while, just end up sitting in my drawers. I much prefer trying new kinds of make up and nail products rather than skincare and recently that's all I've been getting.
This box was free for me as i had enough glossy dots to covert but now i have unsubscribed. I really hope now that i don't see all of your reviews and regret it! But hey ho, onto this months box.
Now, as i'm sure you all know already, this months beauty box was a collaboration with the luxurious Harrods. I have to say, i really like the idea of Special Edition boxes, and this was no exception (although the Valentine's box was a bit poo). I was a bit disappointed that the little information sheet this month had no prices or full sized product info so i can't inform you guys of that today i'm afraid but without further ado, this is the box i received in all of it's glory..
At a glance, i'm like WOAH look at all those luxury brands! But to begin the elimination process, i handed over the skincare things to my mum. I appreciate YSL and Clarins aren't cheap, but i'm only 18 and I don't feel like my skin needs to be "lifted." That's not to say i think skincare products aren't worth it though because in order to keep your skin in it's youth, it is important to take care of it. Like i said, i appreciate that GB have included these fabby brands, but unfortunately they're just not for me. (On a side note, my mum loves them!) I'll just quickly let you know, the YSL serum is said to help increase youthful activity in skin cells, and the Clarins body cream is said to help lift and tone for firmer skin and a younger looking body.
Moving on from the negatives... The perfume sample in this months box is SO DAMN YUMMY! I'm currently using one teeeeny spritz a day praying that it doesn't run out because i can't get enough of it! I have used Marciso Rodriguez before and i love love love it. I can't describe it at all, but it's a really feminine almost clean scent, but sweet at the same time? I like that it really stays on you all day and i catch wafts of it as i go about my business. Thumbs up from me!
Next, the Molton Brown heavenly ginger-lily moisture bath & shower gel, this product for me screams luxury. It's a wonderfully subtle yummy scent which isn't too overpowering and it does a lovely job at moisturising your skin. It's definitely a special occasion product rather than daily use but overall i was pleased to try this out. It's a shame Molton Brown are so expensive.
Finally, saving my favourite until last, i received the Burberry miniature lip mist in shade No202. I've been wearing this everyday this week to give an honest, fair review and i've found it to be a lovely product. I love the cute packaging which makes it feel so luxurious and i love the attention to detail because even the lipstick has the famous Burberry design printed onto it. The colour i received wouldn't be one that i'd pick out for myself because it has quite dark undertones, it's more on the brown-y side of coral pink which doesn't suit me particularly well. Perhaps worn over the top of a brighter lipstick may have better results. The finished look is quite glossy so it can be worn alone for that type of finish if that's what you're looking for but for me, the product doesn't seem all that long. Overall, i enjoy using the lip mist and i would consider repurchasing but definitely in a different shade.
A bit of a mixed bag for me this month, i can't wait to try She Said next month and i'll let you all know how it goes.
What did you think of this months Glossybox? Hope you all have a fabby weekend!

February Glossybox

Okay, so I wasn't impressed at all this month with Glossybox, so before you continue reading, this may be a bit rant-y but it's my personal opinion. I do appreciate that Glossybox can't always cater for everyone's personal preferences, but after i use my 1000 Glossy dots next month, i will be unsubscribing... that it unless they totally wow me next month.

So the first item i received this month was the Paul Mitchell Round Trip which is meant to "define curls." However, the packaging must've got damaged in the delivery process because i received a sticky mess. Plus i would've really liked to have some sort of instructions how to use this product.. do i use it before i wash my hair? When it's damp? I've tried both and haven't had amazing results either way.
This sample was 25ml. A full size product is 200ml at priced at £12.95
Next, i received the "Como Shambhala" body lotion. This did have a nice consistency and texture, but in my opinion, it didn't smell particularly great. I think the peppermint makes it small really odd mixed with lavender.. not something i want to rub all over my skin anyway. And it doesn't feel like a luxury sample, more like your bog standard body lotion if i'm honest.
This sample was 50ml. A full sized product is 300ml and is priced at £20.00.
The DuWop Venom gloss was one of my favourites in this box and i just wish it was a bigger sample! The gloss acts as a lip pumping agent providing a tingly sensation which doesn't hurt or anything, but i don't think it's particularly effective. I love the colour though (i received "buttercup") and it really is glossy with a lovely consistency.
The sample was 5ml. A full sized product is 10.4ml and priced at £16.
Next i'm going to talk about my least favourite product in the box so i can at least end on a high with my most favourite! So my least favourite was the Dr Bronner magic liquid soap, which by the way, smells disgusting! i haven't even used this product because the smell puts me off so much although i do appreciate that it's made of lovely natural ingredients. If you are interested in trying this product, it is really cheap which i guess is a good thing.
This sample was full sized and is priced at £1.99
Finally, to leave it on a high, i did really love the BM Beauty pure mineral eye shadow. I received a gorgeous silvery colour named "Platinum Tiara" which i've used a fair bit to create a sparkly smokey eye. I think it works really nicely in the corners of my eyes, making me look more "wide-eyed." I've never tried BM beauty before, but i would be interested in trying out more of thier products, especially as they are suitable for vegetarians and vegans which is always a plus. They're also fairly affordable.
This sample was 1g. A full sized product is 2g and priced at £7.00

So there's my review. I'm not going to apologise for it being a bit of a rant because it's my honest opinion and like i said, i will definitely unsubscribe after i've redeemed my free box because i don't feel it's worth it anymore. I am on the lookout to try a new beauty box though so if you have any recommendations please let me know! I've got my eye on Boudoir Prive and Feel Unique at the moment, so if any of you have reviews on those boxes, leave your links in the comments box below.
Hope you're all well xxx

January Glossybox: Valentines Edition

This months Glossybox was always going to be tough following the Christmas edition, and i have to say, I am slightly disappointed this month. Skincare is just not my thing because i have eczema and i don't like trying moisturisers in case they cause more irritation.  I have to say though, i love that Glossybox are making special edition boxes because it keeps things exciting, and the sweetie included was super cute :)
The first thing that caught my eye was First Aid Beauty's Gentle Body Wash because the packaging was sweet and i expected it to smell really yummy! But unfortunately it was totally unperfumed and i didn't think it was anything particularly special either. I applied this last night after bathing and then this morning after washing, particularly on my legs and i haven't really noticed any difference in my skin, maybe i need to try it a few more times but I wouldn't buy the full size product for £10, that's for sure.
I have mixed feelings towards Murad's Primer sample too, sorry to be a moaner. This product was one of my favourites in the box simply because i'm a big believer in primers, I currently use Garnier's BB cream, but i'd love to try the illamasqua satin primer (hint hint!). So i've tried this a couple of times already and the overall finish isn't bad actually, the issue i have with it is that it doesn't seem to spread well, if that makes sense. With the BB cream, a little bit goes a long way, but the application of Murad's primer just feels too.. elasticated. Also it seems try dry up quickly, like when i rub it in, it goes all "bitty" on my face. I love the packaging though and it does give an even coverage and radiant glow.
Yet, more skincare! In all fairness, Clarins are such a good brand so i understand why Glossybox have chosen to include the Extra-Firming Day and Night creams. I don't really use firming creams at the moment but i did try the Night cream last night and it seems nice enough. I can't really give a good review on them i'm afraid! My mum also gets Glossybox and she's far more likely to use them so if anyone wants to know any more, leave a comment or tweet me and i'll ask her what she thinks! For £46+ for a full sized product, i would expect quality though.
The Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner was definitely my favourite product in the box this month, although again there are a few downsides to the product - again, sorry for the negativity. I received this product in Midnight blue and the colour as you may be able to see, is lovely and pigmented. I think this will work really nicely for a smokey eye actually and it's easily smudgable too which is nice. My mum received the Powder Pink colour which i think i may be borrowing at some point because it looks like a good eye brightener! I also like the handle on the end of the liner for when i near the end of the pencil, it's a good idea and makes the product feel more expensive. The issue i have with this product is the fact it is actually quite small minus the handle! I look forward to trying out the pencil properly - hopefully on Friday night!

Sorry if this review was too negative for you, but it's my honest opinion of the box and i know Glossybox can't always please everyone. In fact i know loads of people really loved this month's box so let me know what you thought!
Much love xxx

You May As Well Kiss The Internet Goodbye.

How cute are these picture's i've recently found on tumblr and weheartit? Too cute not to share!

1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9

Hey guys, so i've been wondering whether or not to publish this post for a little while now, and i've come to the conclusion that it's important that we all know the threats of these internet copyright acts going around at the moment. If you're not interested in these current changes, i hope you enjoyed the pretty pictures while you still can! Some of you may be aware that SOPA and PIPA was recently withdrawn, (here fore more info), However ACTA which is 10x worse is now in motion.

These video's are really good at explaining the act itself:
1   2
However, if this act passes, what i literally just did by sharing links with you guys would mark me as a criminal.

For example, i've recently been liking images on tumblr which i think are too adorable not to share (above), but if ACTA passes, tumblr itself wouldn't be able to function as a social networking site, let alone twitter, youtube, facebook and even OUR BLOGS!
Although this act has already been signed, the deal is not yet done. First it needs to be ratified by the European parliament and this decision will be made in June this year so we need to say NO to ACTA before the internet as we know it becomes a censored mess. If you want to do your part, spread the word about ACTA, call you local MP's, write letters, posters, make songs or videos! Just do whatever you can to protect our freedom as we know it.

I believe in a FREE internet!

Sorry for the seriousness of this post, a lighthearted glossybox review should be on it's way to you guys in the next couple of days!

December Glossybox

This month's limited edition box has to be, by far, one of the best glossyboxes i've ever received. This is the first time i've been overjoyed with every product, knowing i'll get use out of it all!
Obviously this month was the Christmas gift guide part two, and it contained items that help you become "Belle of the ball" this party season.
To get into the festive spirit, Glossybox's signature dusty pink box transformed into a Christmassy red one this month - What a cute idea! I thought it was such a lovely touch to keep up with the seasons. I was also really really happy to see the amount of full sized products we got this month.. and all of them are amazing.
The first thing i pulled out of my box was Rituals foaming shower gel in Yogi Flow. Now, i haven't properly used this yet, but i can tell you it smells really sweet and yummy! Sort of cakey and flowery at the same time. It says, "This unique foaming shower gel gently cleanses your skin and leaves it silky soft and smooth." So i can't wait to try this out later!
I've never tried any of MeMeMe cosmetics before but this face base reminds me a lot of Bobbi Browns face primer. It smells gorgeous, like lemonade or that icy fanta. It also works really well leaving my skin feel really hydrated and it leaves a sort of natural dewy finish which is what i like to achieve! It says, "A luxurious moisturising facebase enriched with active nutrients and extracts to prime and nourish the skin."
I was so glad to get this in my box after seeing some spoilers - I actually really needed some new mascara so this was perfect timing. I've never even heard of blink+go before, and i've gotta say i'm not a massive fan of their packaging, but the mascara itself was a nice surprise. It gives me longer lashes with only one coat! The brush is quite thin but it doesn't give that effect. It's also waterproof which is always an added bonus now the weather's taken a turn for the worst!
I also received this gorgeous little sample of lipgloss from Cargo Cosmetics in "Tokyo." It's a baby pink colour, reminds me of the babydoll leighton denny nail varnish actually! (colour-wise!). The application is lovely too, I don't find it sticky at all. The description reads, "Cargo's new lip gloss formulation! Perfect shades, great wear and high-shine without being sticky."
This pretty festive nail varnish caught my eye, almost the moment I opened my box. It's such a pretty colour that i've been wearing non-stop since I got my fingers on it! (I think it's in shade, "razzle dazzle.") It does need a couple of layers though to get the full effect. The pot came with a small sachet of polish remover mitts which i'm popping in my handbag for a nail related emergency. My mum did use hers though and said that they were really easy to use.

What did you think of the limited edition GB this month? Let me know xxx

November Glossybox

One thing i adore about Glossybox is the excitement of waiting for the middle of each month, not knowing what goodies you've got heading your way. This week i'v been really poorly but Monday's postman came and handed me my beauty box, and through coughs and sniffles a smile spread across my face.
The first thing i noticed this month was it's weight - Did anyone else think it was a lot heavier? A small part of me was hoping we'd have another six pack box!
Now, i have mixed feelings about this box but here's what i received this month:
The point of this months GlossyBox was to give us sort of a Christmas gift guide which I think is quite sweet and i'm looking forward to part 2 :)
The Dead Sea spa bath salts were the source of weight in the box! I was pleasantly surprised to receive these to be honest with you. I won't be using them myself so i can't really review them for you. Instead i'm going to give them as a gift this Christmas because i know a certain someone who looooves Dead Sea products.
I can't wait to try these Nail Rock wraps - I've seen them everywhere and have been debating on whether to try them out - Just gotta let my nails grow first! I  like the design i got too, i quite like the look of the "furry cheetah" and "giraffe black on gold," but the dots are very me :) Has anyone else tried these?
Next, i received these perfume samples from Serge Lutens which i really don't like! They aren't my cup of tea at all - They remind me of those little lavender sweet you used to be able to get, parma violets are they called? Anyway not a fan of parma violets and not a fan of this perfume i'm afraid!
I also got these two bad boys. The first is a full sized product of recovery balm by Monu. I've never heard on Monu before but it feels quite expensive! The balm works quite nicely on my dry, eczema-y skin, I haven't really tried it enough to see results but it definitely feels ok. The hand cream by Arbonne also seems ok but again, only really briefly tried this one. I'm not sure how good the make is either - may need to read into that. But these two products i wasn't too fussed about really. I guess when you subscribe to a beauty box you're always going to get hit's and misses but I just didn't enjoy this box and i have the others. It seems really skin related and i don't use a huge amount of skin care products. But hey-ho rant over.

What did you guys think about this month's box?
Much love xxx

October's Glossybox!

I came home from a miserable day on Monday to find my October Glossybox sitting neatly on my bed which instantly put a smile on my face! In fact i think i screamed a little bit, i wasn't expecting it to arrive so soon. I literally ripped open the box and thought, no! I haven't taken photo's! So carefully unwrapped the rest to preserve it's beautiful packaging. What do you guys do with your boxes/ribbons etc? I've used mine for nail varnish storage, which looks neat and pretty!
Ok, so the first thing that caught my attention was this months theme, "Six pack," and reading on, i was sooo excited to see that this months box included an extra 6th product to celebrate GlossyBox's 6 month anniversary! Happy Anniversary GlossyBox!
One of the first things i noticed was the super sized briefing this month, i love how they've added QR's  to scan which takes you right to where you can buy each product. There's also the info down the right hand side which tells you how much is in a full sized product which i think is really useful! The one disappointing thing though was the fact that there's only one discount code!
Anyway, let's get down to it. Here's what i got in my box this month!
First impressions - Sweeeet, a new make up bag, perfect as i'm heading out to Barcelona on Friday! And really cute coloured nail varnish, love the packaging and detailing. It's the little details that make the Glossybox so worthwhile and special.
In the make-up bag amongst the tissue paper, the small tube of lip complex fell out! Which was this months extra product. I've used it a couple of times now and it's lovely and hydrating and so soft. The multivitamin thermofoliant and the power recovery masque seem great but i haven't had the chance to use them properly yet. The thermofoliant is almost like a sugar scrub, or rather what i've used so far seems like it. It's feels like a really gentle exfoliant, so probably good for sensitive skin.
I also received the Leighton Denny nail varnish in "Babydoll." I know other's got Hanky Panky or Sex Kitten, but i'm really pleased with this colour! I know it's very pastel-y (is that a word?), so it's probably best as a spring colour, but i couldn't care less! I love how pigmented the varnish is and like i said before, the packaging makes it really appealing too - Simple yet stylish. This was one of my favourites in the box alongside the Stila eyeliner in "Moray..."
The colour is kind of khaki with shimmers of golden tones and it smudges really well too. It's supposed to be a waterproof smudgestick and it pretty much ticks all the boxes! I wore it today and usually when i finally get home my eyeliner has faded or even totally disappeared, but this lasted all day without losing any colour. I think i might even try smudging it more and making an eye shadow effect. We'll see how that goes and i'll keep you updated!
The final addition was three perfume samples by Robert Piguet. I was very impressed with the presentation! They came in a really cute little pink bag, if i didn't love the nail varnish so much i would have placed it in the little pink bag and used it for a gift! I'm not sure about the perfume though.. They're pleasant, but just not really what i'd usually go for. My mum loves them all but i think they smell too clean? I know that sounds weird, i just don't know how else to describe it! They're okay anyway, not the best.

Overall, I was very impressed with my October Box and i know a lot of my friends and family are extremely interested in the box after seeing mine! I will definitely be using the new "Refer a friend" scheme when it's up and running.

Did you like this month's box?
Much love, xxxxx
